A Special Message to Pastors and Church Leaders

True spirituality that is pure in the eyes of our Father God is to make a difference in the lives of the orphans, and widows in their troubles, and to refuse to be corrupted by the world’s values. -James 1:27 (TPT)

Dear Pastor or Church Leader,

I want you to imagine your church filled with youth, 13, 14, 15, 16-year-olds, all the way up to 25-year old. Imagine them on August 10th, coming for the very first time to your church, some never have been to church their entire lives.

Hi, my name is Ron Luce, the executive director of Jesus Global Youth Day. After having ministered in North America for thirty years, to literally millions of youth, it has become apparent that global youth culture has spread from the west, all around the world making it more difficult to reach the younger generation. But, not any longer! Jesus Global Youth Day is the church coming together for a live event in Manila, Philippines, and that is being broadcast to tens of thousands of sights all around the world that are hosting young people in their church and in their local facilities. I thank you for being one of those important sites where young lives are going to be changed. As you know, there will be many leaders from around the world coming to Jesus Global Youth Day sharing their heart for young people and the power of the Gospel. You might know that many of you will be excited to know that Planetshakers will be there and their leader, Russell Evans.

You do not want your church or community to miss out on this event. I know that you have already been praying for the young people in your region but have your church or fellowship to continue to pray and prepare for the young people. It is time now to begin inviting people and what I mean when I say “invite”, I am not saying just put on a billboard, post on social media, or just make an announcement to the church. Of course, do that if you can, but I mean specifically to get everyone in your church, everyone you influence, and everyone on your email list and ask them, “Who are you going to invite?”, send them the following graphic that I have included, and with that graphic invitation, include the time, place, and address to your church. I want to encourage you to begin thinking about this process right now.

I included the pdf of “The 10-Challenges of a World Changer” in the last email and have included the pdf here as well. I hope you are encouraging your young people to go through that. You can print it out and go through it, meet together each week before church, ask them how they are doing, how they are growing in their faith. But what I specifically want to encourage you to do is:  young people around the world, during the week of August 10th, will be doing “acts of kindness in the name of Christ”. You might know that the same weekend is the United Nations International Youth Day, and they’re encouraging people to do good works; however, for JGYD, we are encouraging people to do acts of kindness in the name of Christ. I would encourage you to brainstorm this week as you meet with your youth group, what could you do that week of August 10th

  • Go and help widows with a meal.
  • Dig a well in a remote village.
  • Clean someone’s yard.
  • Raise money for orphans.
  • Paint a house.
  • Volunteer at a shelter to help feed the homeless.

It’s an act of kindness in the name of Christ during the week of August 10th, leading up to Jesus Global Youth Day. I want to encourage you to discuss, take a vote, pray about it together, and make a plan of which day during that week you will meet together and do an act of kindness in the name of Christ. Then, what we want to do is to take a video of your service, post it to social media and include:

  • The number of people you helped.
  • The amount of money you raised.
  • The number of orphans that were loved.
  • The number of people that heard the name of Jesus.

We want you to post on the JGYD Facebook site http://www.facebook.com/jesusglobalyouthday  or whatever social media platform you prefer, just “hashtag” it (#JesusGlobalYouthDay or #JGYD2019). We want to show the world what young people all over the world are doing in the name of Jesus Christ to make the world a better place. Plan now and let us know what your plan is; post your plan on the JGYD Facebook page so we can be praying for you and be cheering you on.

PS. Be sure and take this graphic, send out to all your members, ask them to share on their social media and have them text out to all their friends they’re inviting. Be praying for what’s about to happen; we believe God is going to do a miracle for millions of youth on August 10th and you are a part of this miracle.

I have also included the JGYD theme song and video, please plan to show your youth group and church this week. See if you can get your worship team playing this song, to prepare your youth to join in globally
